Introducing Simon Ngumbau - Endu1’s First International Elite Athlete

"Don’t dream of winning, train for it. If you want honey, prepare for bee stings."

Endu1 is excited to welcome Simon Ngumbau to our team as our first international elite athlete. Simon, one of the elite runners from Weapons Coaching, led by the incredible Steve Brennan, embodies what it means to chase greatness with dedication and grit.

Hailing from Kwale, Kenya, Simon’s journey shows what passion, hard work, and pushing your limits can achieve. At just 29 years old, Simon has already achieved impressive milestones in his career, including:

  • Diani Half Marathon 2022 Champion (21km): 1:10:43
  • Personal Bests:
    • 5000m: 14:46 (KATA (Kenya Athletics Training Academy) Time Trial)
    • 10km: 30:50 (KATA Time Trial)
    • Half Marathon: 1:07:22 (Nairobi City Marathon)
    • Mountain Running: 13.5km (750m elevation): 1:13:14 (Mt. Longonot Mountain Run)

Starting his professional running career after college, Simon was inspired by Kenya’s rich running culture. Under the guidance of Weapons Coaching from Steve Brennan, he’s transitioning into mountain running with a goal to compete in the Mountain Running World Cup series and conquer the marathon distance.

Simon is not only a talented runner but also a skilled artist, crafting beaded wrist bracelets to support his income. When he’s not training, he enjoys cooking, movies, and adventure.

His next challenge is the Tinderet Bargetuny Mountain Run on 18 January 2025, where he aims to improve on his debut mountain running performance.

Simon’s philosophy says it all:
"Don’t dream of winning, train for it. If you want honey, prepare for bee stings."

We are honoured to support Simon on his journey as he pushes his limits and explores his incredible potential. Let’s cheer him on as he takes on new heights in his running career!
